I am a bit confused about the pan size.

Here is says a under Kitchen utensils: An 8-inch (20 cm) square baking tray (the one I used) with rims at least 6 cm (2.5 inches) high; a large bowl; a whisk; a spatula; a frying pan; a cutting board and a knife.

Later it says in step 6, Grease a baking tray with a rim of at least 15 cm - with 1 tablespoon of butter or 1 ½ tablespoon of oil.

A 15 cm rim would be 5.91 inches hide.

So which is it, an 8 inch square baking tray with a 2.5 inch side OR an 8 inch square baking tray with a 5.91 inch side?

Thanks so much.

Hi Julia, thank you for pointing that out. You're absolutely right, the correct rim height should be at least 6 cm (2.5 inches). The mention of 15 cm in the method was a typo. I’ve updated it now to avoid confusion. Appreciate you taking the time to ask!

This looked so good I had to make it (caught it on YouTube) - I went searching, too. Husband and I both liked it (he went back for seconds) but I'm wondering if subbing 0 fat Greek yogurt for the sour cream made the crust a bit ... dry? I also put too much on the bottom and not enough on top. I will maybe add some butter to the batter (I don't keep sour cream around usually and I liked this recipe because it's all stuff I usually keep on hand) and measure out so I get the crust more even.

I love this recipe! I saw the video and it looked so good. I have made it last week and again this week. It is definitely going in the "meal rotation"!

Curious about measurements. Those look like heaping tablespoons. Is is possible to provide a bit more accuracy? For the dough part. Thanks!

Hi Pat! In the video, it might look like heaping, but the measurements are actually level. For the dough, I used 5 tablespoons of sour cream. Let me know if you need more details!

I’m going to try this today, using leeks, instead of onion, and Brussels sprouts instead of cabbage. Will post results!

That sounds like a great idea, Kathleen! I usually just add sour cream on the side, but a pan sauce definitely sounds delicious too 😋

I made this tonight. Instead of meat, I used Quorn Grounds and it was delicious. I also multiplied the batter by 1.5.

I understand too. I was hooked on animal products but realized there is no species appropriate husbandry and it all relies upon abuse. Then there is environmental degradation, loss of biodiversity and of course most animal products are unhealthy. You’re in a position to positively influence folk.
