The Most Delicious Creamy Shrimp Pasta

My eldest son had a sleepover at his friend's house a few days ago...with a great movie night and games until midnight. He came back beaming with joy and impressions – one of which was the dinner he had with his friend. He described it as follows: "It was pasta with shrimp and cream... and something quite spicy. Garlic, I think! Can you cook it for us? Please!" And that's what I did, exactly as he instructed. But I didn't get it right – according to my son, the sauce was missing something. So I had to do a little research and ask some more questions. Apparently there was a mysterious 'red dotted' spice that made everything a little hotter. Cayenne pepper? Paprika? I hesitated to call his friend's parents to ask... Wouldn't that be awkward? Finally, I found a little Cajun spice in my cupboard and put some in for my next attempt... And that was it!
So here it is, the recipe for my son's favorite shrimp pasta 🥰 😋
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 tablespoons butter (divided)
1 lb (450g) raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

3/4 cup (50 g) parmesan
8.8 ounces (250g) egg fettuccine pasta
